Watches · Quick checks
Good for: The seller states the movement and shows the caseback rather than only the dial.
Confirm: That you would be willing to declare it as described — copies of branded pieces are refused on many lines.
QC focus: A shot of the case back, studied closely, tells you most of what you need to know.
Trap: Logos and brand marks are least trustworthy here, and a suspiciously low figure is usually exactly that.
Movement type and what it means
Quartz movements are accurate, cheap and need only a battery. Automatic movements are mechanical, need wearing or winding, and will drift by seconds a day. Neither is better in the abstract — quartz suits someone who wants a watch that simply works, while automatic appeals to people who enjoy the mechanism. Decide which you are before comparing prices.
Case size, lug width and wrist fit
Case diameter alone does not tell you how a watch wears; lug-to-lug length decides whether it overhangs your wrist. Measure your wrist and compare against both figures. Strap width determines whether you can swap the strap later, which is the cheapest way to change how a watch looks, so check that it is a common size.
Battery, servicing and ownership costs
Quartz watches need a battery every couple of years and little else. Mechanical watches benefit from a service every few years, which costs real money and is easy to forget when comparing prices. Factor ownership cost into the decision, because a bargain mechanical watch that has never been serviced is a false economy over five years.
Ordering this through Boonbuy
Boonbuy supports ordering across many categories and provides warehouse photography before shipment. The practical habit here is to place several small orders, let them accumulate at the warehouse, and release them together as one parcel. Freight is the largest controllable cost in any order, and consolidation is the main lever you have.
